Inspection & Dusting
The area rug is examined for fiber type, dye stability, stains, and damage. It’s then dusted to remove any loose dry soil and debris.
Washing & Treatment
The rug is then pre-treated for stains and odors, then thoroughly washed using pH-balanced solutions appropriate for the fiber type.
Rinsing & Extraction
All cleaning agents are fully rinsed out and water is extracted to prevent residue buildup, shrinkage, or mildew from developing.
Drying & Final Inspection
The rug is dried in a controlled environment, groomed back into shape, and inspected before being returned to the customer.

Our thorough 10 step cleaning process ensures every rug is treated with care. From initial inspection and dusting all the way through to final grooming.
1. Pre-Inspection
We begin with a thorough inspection of your area rug, checking for spots, stains, construction type, and dye stability.
2. Dusting
Your rug is dusted using high-tech equipment to remove dry, abrasive soils embedded deep within the fibers.
3. Pre-Treatment
Your rug is pre-treated with a specialized cleaning solution to target and break down any spots or stains.
4. Rug Washing
Your rug receives a gentle shampooing using wool-safe detergent and soft brushes to safely remove soils and stains.
5. Cold Water Bath
Your rug is then submerged in our state-of-the-art Turkish cold water bath for a deep, thorough rinse.
6. Hand Cleaning
The fringes of your rug are carefully hand-cleaned by our experts using specialized tools and proven techniques.
7. Final Rinse
Your rug goes through a final rinsing process to ensure all remaining cleaning products and soils are fully removed.
8. Drying
Temperature and air circulation are continuously regulated in our drying room to ensure safe and proper drying.
9. Finishing
Your rug’s pile and fringes are hand-groomed and carefully inspected by a certified rug care professional.
10. Delivery Or Pickup
Your clean rug is returned within 5–7 days via free delivery or pickup at one of our eight locations.

This covers the majority of Western Washington, however, if you are unsure as to whether or not your home is covered within our delivery radius, give us a call. The average rug with normal wear should be cleaned every one to three years, depending on the color of the rug and the amount of traffic it gets. If you have pets, small children or a lot of foot traffic, an annual cleaning may be a good idea.
Here are some simple tests to determine if your rug needs to be professionally cleaned:
- Rub your palm on the rug for a couple seconds. If it becomes visibly dirty, it’s time for a cleaning.
- Kneel down and smell the rug. If it smells foul, it’s time for a cleaning.
- Lift a corner of the rug and shake it hard. If you can see a dust cloud, it’s definitely time for a cleaning.
- Fold back a corner of the rug, away from the pile, to expose the base of the fibers. If there is dirt embedded deep in the pile, it’s time for a cleaning.
This is a personal decision that you will have to make. Many of our customers ask themselves this question, weighing their emotional attachment, the cost of cleaning it and the cost of replacing it. In some cases, an entire room is designed around the rug. We offer free estimates and are happy to provide you with guidance as you make a decision.
The industrial truck mounted machines that all reputable carpet cleaning companies use hot steam and powerful vacuuming. Those machines penetrate deep into the carpet fibers to remove much more dirt than a regular vacuum.
Many people choose to clean their carpets themselves with a rented carpet cleaner. These low-end steam cleaners will save you money, but leave too much moisture behind that can lead to mold and unpleasant odors in the long-term.
Our normal cleaning process for rugs takes between seven and 10 days. Repairs and extra cleaning take more time. For example, pet urine and odor removal will take additional time.
Our technicians will gladly move most furniture pieces when they pick up your rug. Particularly heavy items (pool tables, etc.) should be moved prior to our arrival. After your rug is cleaned, our technician will place the rug back in your home and replace the furniture free of charge.
If you have your rug on a hard surface, we recommend that you place a pad under it. A rug pad will extend the life of your rug and make it more comfortable to walk on, as well as prevent it from sliding on the floor.
